When I got up this morning, I had an email from Sarah. It was a "just like old times" email. She told me all about getting settled in at her new apartment, some auditions she's been on but hasn't been too jazzed about, with her L.A. friends and learning how to surf, the latter of which made me laugh because Sarah's not terribly coordinated when it comes to things like that. It left me with mixed emotions on the one hand, I'm glad things are close to normal between us, but on the other hand, I wish we could have worked it all out before she moved back to L.A., so we could have had more time together.
I wrote back, telling her all about Puerto Rico and my new job. And after debating with myself a bit, I also told her about my conversation with Brandon at the party, his email, and our gchat. It felt a bit weird, telling her when I know she's friends with Brandon, but it would have felt weirder to not tell her.
After I got caught up on email, I called Naomi to see if she wanted to have lunch before we went to see Eclipse. She did, so we met up at a French bistro near the theater. When I walked in, she was already seated, with a mimosa.
"Hi there!" she said, rising to give me an air kiss. "Sit! And tell me EVERYTHING about Puerto Rico."
I ordered a mimosa as well, and told her all about the trip.
"I didn't want to come back," I said.
"Oh, I know," Naomi said. "When we were there, we came up with a million and one business ideas that would allow us to stay there forever."
"We did, too," I said, smiling. "So what have you guys been up to?"
Naomi and Shane have both been working a lot during the week and spending weekends at the beach house. They're planning a trip to Paris for their upcoming anniversary. And they're having a dinner party next weekend, and would love it if Ben and I would attend.
"I'll check with Ben to see if he's doing anything," I said. I knew he wasn't, and I also knew that he's over thinking that Naomi and Shane want to have an orgy with us, but I didn't know where he stood on hanging out with them.
After lunch, we walked over to the movie theater. It was empty, except for a group of three teenage girls who kept saying things like, "I love this part coming up" and "Whatever Victoria, you are so about to get your ass kicked." I'm guessing this wasn't the first time they had seen it. And I'm sad to say that Naomi and I were as excited to watch it as they were. She turned to me at one point and asked me how old Jacob was in real life, because she wanted to make sure that she was legally allowed to drool over his abs. (Answer: barely)
